ReplyDeleteWild ~
I am so glad you found your way here! And wishing you more moments of being held just where you are at... wherever that may be!!
Greetings Erica...
ReplyDeleteI'm here at Terri's prompt as well. Don't you just love John O'Donohue? Too funny as I posted a writing of his today on my blog...
I'm so with you on where you are in the present moment...and your beautiful yet insightful comment, 'Yes, they have carved their presence deep within my heart. But even larger yet is the love that has tended my wounds, the grace that has washed over me daily, and the hope that holds me in the midst of the darkness.'
It really touched my heart this night.
Many Blessings to You!
Beautiful words Erica. I love John O'! Here is an enchanting excerpt you may be familiar with, that I love so much:
ReplyDeleteFrom "Grief" by O'Donohue;
And when the work of grief is done
The wound of loss will heal
And you will have learned
To wean your eyes
From that gap in the air
And be able to enter the hearth
In your soul
Where your loved one
Has awaited your return
All the time.
This was a friends status update on FB today and I thougth it wrapped up these things too...
ReplyDeleteThe most authentic thing about us
Is our capacity to create, to overcome,
To endure, to transform, to love,
And to be greater than our suffering.

AkasaWolfSong~ I am so glad you found your way here, and thankful to Terri for her prompting :).
I do love John O'Donohue... and I recently listened to his interview with Krista Tippett, beautiful and inspired me to go find more of his work. I look forward to exploring more of your blog as well :). And I LOVED the piece you had posted of his... breathaking as so much of his work is.
Lori ~ I hadn't read that one before... but it spoke straight to my soul... it has now become one of my favorites too :). I actually am going to print it out and use it as my journal prompt soon... Thank you as always for your thoughtfulness.
